Cultural monuments
The historical old part of town, in Salzburg is in itself a cultural highlight.
The numerous, impressive buildings and cultural monuments of the baroque city were appointed by the UNESCO to a world cultural heritage. In accordance with the UNESCO motto - ' Monumenta more semper sunt servanda ' - the cultural and the natural inheritance of the world must be preserved - there are therefore strict conservation laws in Salzburg's 'old town', in order to preserve the beauty and unique architecture of the old part of Salzburg's town.
In the numerous splendid buildings of the city and the richly filled Salzburg museums, culture friends are in their element.
For extended visits to the city, its objects of interest, collections and museums, it is recommended that you obtain a Salzburg Card. Many facilities may then be visited at a discount or free of charge.
Your Hotel Gmachl team will gladly inform you about exhibitions and cultural meetings.
