Music Festival in Winter in Salzburg
At about the time of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's birthday, the 27th January, the Mozart week takes place in Salzburg.
Organizer of this prestigious culture event is the international Mozarteum trust. With approximately 25 events in ten days, this music celebration in the winter atmosphere of Salzburg has developed during the past 50 years to one of the most important festivals in Europe. Internationally prominent conductors, soloists, singers, orchestras and ensembles are to be experienced during the Mozart week. The program contains among other things concerts with the Viennese Philharmonics, with an Orchestra in Residence, with the Camerata Salzburg, the Mozarteum orchestra Salzburg and guest orchestras. Chamber and soloist concerts likewise rank among the fixed points of the event. There probably is not an internationally recognized Mozart interpreter, who has not performed here on the stage of this festival.
